There’s a moment in any real transformation where the spiritual layer
crosses a threshold before the rest of you catches up. This creates the
Slingshot effect.
When we cross into a new phase, a new identity, a new boundary, a new
truth…for a moment, there’s clarity. There’s relief. There’s the sense
of, finally, I’ve shifted.
Then our emotional body starts snarling, our mind can attack us like
it’s been possessed, and our physical body can go into full-on detox:
inflamed, wired, exhausted, or collapsing. It makes no logical sense.
This is the threshold slingshot. Understanding what’s actually happening when this occurs is important.
When the spiritual layer crosses first, as it always does, we shift
timelines instantly. Spirit doesn’t wait. When something’s done, it’s
done. At that level, the contract is closed, the chapter is over, and
the upgrade has been chosen.
But our mental, emotional, and physical layers do not move at the
speed of Spirit (Light). They move at the speed of matter, and that
takes more time.
That mismatch creates internal pressure that feels like a backlash
and chaos. We can interpret that chaos as “I’ve done something wrong,”
“I messed up,” or “I’m being attacked.”
What you’re actually experiencing is the delay between a spiritual
threshold and the human layers recalibrating to match it. It is the
slingshot pulling back.
When we cross a large threshold, the kind that changes our internal
geometry and rewrites programming, the emotional body immediately starts
cleaning up whatever can’t come with us. That “clean-up mission” often
feels like being shoved backward. Old grief, old fear, old patterns of
self-abandonment or people-pleasing, old childhood programming… all of
it rises at once because the timeline that held those patterns is
dissolving.
The emotional & mental bodies freak out because they think, Where
do I belong if that chapter is truly over? What do I anchor into now?
We can feel the panic even if nothing is “wrong.” This is why we can
have a major shift one day and wake up the next morning with anxiety
buzzing through our skin, tears that come out of nowhere, or a sudden
fear that we forgot something, missed something, or did something wrong.
The emotional body just hasn’t caught up to the new timeline.
Then there’s the mental body, the trickiest of all. The mind hates
transition. It is uncomfortable in the unknown and is threatened by
identity restructuring. So, it attacks.
The mind will do anything to reassert control.
When the spiritual layer crosses a threshold, we’ve already become a
new version of ourselves, but the mind is still operating from the
fears, patterns, and survival strategies of the previous version. It’s
outdated software running on a new operating system, and it
malfunctions. It can become vicious, make up stories, drag up old
beliefs and programming in an attempt to drag us back into the familiar.
Yet once our spirit has crossed the threshold, the new frequency has
already landed in our field, and we can’t be dragged back to the old for
long. It is just that the old mental architecture is short-circuiting
as it is exiting.
Then there is the body. The body is always the last to cross the
threshold because it’s the densest, slowest-moving layer. When the
spiritual self shifts but the physical self hasn’t integrated yet, the
body dumps whatever isn’t compatible with the new timeline.
That can look like:
- Inflammation
- Flushing
- Tight muscles
- Nervous system overload
- Adrenal surges
- Randomly gaining or losing a few pounds overnight
- Buzzing skin
- Full-body tension
- Exhaustion
- Detox reactions that come out of nowhere
While it is very uncomfortable, it is the body letting go of the chemistry involved in the old identity.
When the soul says, We’re done with that version of ourselves, the
body goes into a shedding process. It clears old stress hormones, old
fear chemicals, old bracing patterns, old trauma residue. And it does it
fast, which can feel like physical chaos.
Bottom line, when we first cross into a new space, we often
experience incoherence. One layer is in the new timeline, while the rest
are still catching up.
All of this happened to me recently. I crossed a threshold on the
spiritual level; I laid a clean, decisive internal boundary that had
been building for years, and the moment I crossed it, something in my
system shifted. I could feel how monumental the moment was. I was
choosing myself completely and unapologetically.
The next morning, my nervous system went into an overwhelmed state I
hadn’t felt in years. Tight shoulders, flushed cheeks, zero tolerance
for anything, emotional spike-ups, and physical tension that made no
sense. My spiritual self had already moved forward. My human self was
scrambling behind, confused and overloaded. It felt like being hurled
backward even though I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong.
That’s the slingshot.
As I quieted myself to understand, I found the parts of me that held old roles, old responsibilities, old stories.
I then opened my crown and said these words aloud:
♥
I am in full alignment.
My body is in full alignment.
My emotional self is in full alignment.
My mental self is in full alignment.
♥
The old roles, responsibilities, and stories are let go.
All of me steps forward into the new.
As I anchored with deep belly breaths, I felt my system click.
That was the moment the slingshot let go, and the layers moved forward together.
As we move forward on this ascension cycle, we are breaking lifelong
patterns, setting boundaries for the first time, saying no where we used
to say yes, choosing ourselves where we used to self-abandon, and
walking away from dynamics we’ve tolerated for lifetimes:
There are three things that actually help when you’re in this incoherence phase:
- Speak alignment into your field.
Say it out loud. Direct the system.
Your energy will follow your instructions if you give it.
- Let the body detox without making it mean something is wrong.
When the body dumps old chemistry, let it. Drink water. Ground. Move slowly.
Don’t try to “fix” the detox; let it be. It’s the purge of a previous timeline.
- Stay present with the mind without believing its stories.
The mind will throw a tantrum. It will say things that are not even
remotely true. You’ve already crossed spiritually; the mind is just
clearing its backlog.
If you’re in the slingshot right now, understand that you are just
syncing layers. Your spirit is already on the other side of that
threshold. Your body, your emotions, and your mind just need a moment to
cross with you. Go easy on yourself. Now is the time to show ourselves
radical, unconditional love and acceptance.
Sending you all lots of love,
Jenny
