Atlantis was the island continent that existed where the Atlantic Ocean is now and that sank in the cataclysm (Noah's Flood) some 11,600 years ago, as calculated by archaeologist and author James Churchward. The wreckage of Atlantis was the result of the total perversion of male and female uses of sacred fire in the last days of their civilization. In his dialogues, Plato reports that on the "island of Atlantis there was a great and wonderful empire" that ruled Africa to Egypt, Europe to Italy and "parts of the continent" (considered a reference to the Americas).

Lemuria, or Mu, was the lost continent of the Pacific, which, according to Churchward’s findings, stretched 3,000 miles south from northern Hawaii to Easter Island and the Fijis. It consisted of three areas of land stretching for more than 5,000 miles from east to west. He estimates Mu was destroyed about 12,000 years ago by the collapse of the gas chambers that sustained the continent.
