HARARE, 29 Jul (Xinhua) -- Zimbabwe applied to join the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB)

HARARE, 29 Jul (Xinhua) -- Zimbabwe applied to join the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB), said President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The country has submitted an application to join the NDB and expects to have Russia's support, Mnangagwa said quoted on Friday by the state-owned newspaper Herald. He made the remarks during a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Zimbabwe's President is among several African leaders attending the second Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum which closed on Friday. The forum was held ahead of the 15th BRICS Summit to be held in South Africa at the end of August.
