What connects Nikola Tesla to the removal of Ether (Akasha) from the Periodic Table?
Historically, ether (or aether) was seen as the "fifth element" or quintessence—the unifying force of the heavens and spirit world in ancient science, foundational to the classical elements (earth, water, air, fire, and ether). Ether’s concept faded from scientific theories by the early 20th century, just as focus on oil and gas was rising in industrial science.
Tesla, however, held fast to his belief in ether as a medium through which electromagnetic forces operate, famously stating, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” He saw ether as the essential field for these vibrations, enabling universal energy transfer.
Disagreeing with Einstein’s theory of relativity, which discarded ether in favor of a vacuum, Tesla argued relativity was “a magnificent mathematical garb” that missed the critical need for a medium like ether. To Tesla, space without ether left energy transfer unexplained.
